Is there such a thing as a "child prostitute"?
No, there is no such thing as a "child prostitute". Children are prostituted. Countless girls are abused, coerced and forced by predators to live a life of sexual exploitation.

Yes. Most youth who runaway from home, are running away from something, not to something...They believe the streets are safer than their own homes. The chances of a runaway child being recruited into the sex industry are greater than 50%.

Why don't the girls/boys just runaway from their pimps?
Many children are imprisoned in houses, hotels or on business premises, with threats of violence to themselves or their families, should they try to escape.

What happens when a child is arrested by law enforcement?
Even when a child is brought into the Juvenile Justice System on charges of prostitution, it is rare for charges to be brought against the "John" or Pimp. This simply means that the market or demand for children will remain, regardless of how many children are rescued.

Are there any safe residential care facilities/homes for CSE children?
Both girls and boys are victims of CSE and Human Trafficking. Most of the children brutalized by the CSE industry are girls. Currently, there are very few safe residential care facilities/home in the entire United States designed specifically for CSE girls. And there aren't any for boys. Angela's House, located in Fulton County, was the first safe house for sexually exploited girls in the Southeastern United States. Angela's House has six beds.

Is it a misdemeanor for the pimping and pandering of minors?
Prior to July 2001 in Georgia it was a misdemeanor and a $50 fine to pimp or pander minors. Now Georgia has some stronger laws protecting these children and mandating sentences ranging from 10 to 20 years for both pimps and johns.

Does the internet play a role in the CSE and Human Trafficking of children?
Yes. It is believed that only 15% of CSE and Human Trafficking takes place on the street corner and the other 85% of the buying, renting and trading of children for sexual exploitation happens over the internet.
